PAINTING INTRODUCTION & ADVANCED POTTER’S WHEEL

Youth & Adults 12 & Over
This is a perfect class for individuals interested in learning and perfecting throwing on the potter’s wheel. Intro students will learn the basics of wheel throwing. Students will also work on hands building skills.  8 weeks.

INSIGHTFUL BIRTH EDUCATION CLASS
Expecting Couples
Min: 3 couples  Max: 8 couples
This isn't your mama's birth class! Learn how to stay healthy during pregnancy and create more options for the birth of your baby. Classes cover many of the medical procedures, medications, and choices available to moms today. Learn techniques to help you cope with labor and how to use medications effectively. Postpartum care of mom and baby is also included in this very thorough birth class. Every couple will receive a binder of reading materials and useful forms and references. Couples need to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and pillow.

FICTION CRAFT WORKSHOP

This is a craft workshop for fiction writers of all genres and at all levels. I am an MFA candidate in Writing & Literature at the prestigious Bennington Writing Seminars and have studied with such noted authors as Alice Mattison and Askold Melnyczuk. I was a recipient of a Liam Rector Scholarship and am a published author. I will lead the workshop for fiction writers to discuss their work and the craft. Be prepared to supply copies of your work and to get and provide constructive criticism. Short reading assignments will also be given. Please register online and provide your email address so that I can send further instructions prior to the first class. Please bring a notebook and pen to class.

ADULT BEGINNERS MOSAIC WORKSHOP: SHABBY MOSAIC MIRROR

Artist Shonna Royster-Perkins will be introducing a beginner’s mosaic art class. This is a fun two week workshop in which you will create a one of a kind shabby mosaic mirror. You will learn how to plan, arrange and complete a project. Discovering what you love and what your soul gravitates toward. It is Shonna’s goal to have you leave her class more enlightened and in touch with the creative side of your soul.
 
Basic supplies will be provided. You are encouraged to bring tiny sentimental heirlooms that are special to you as well as any small token that will celebrate who you are. Students who have brought broken pieces of their past such as jewelry, small trinkets and broken/chipped china have been able to find this experience exceptionally rewarding. Individual vintage china, and trinkets will be available for $1.00 each and up. Intermediate and advanced workshops to be followed.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
There’s a drugstore on almost every corner and medical building, and all of them employ Pharmacy Technicians! Pharmacy technology is an area of employment that offers vast opportunities. The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates 25% increases in these jobs in Michigan thru 2016. Get in on the career opportunities right now by gaining the skills needed to assist pharmacists in providing medications to doctors and the general public. You’ll learn how to stock a pharmacy; create, updates and maintain records; and distribute medications and treatments accurately and efficiently. Instructor is a Pharmacy Technician.
